AHA364-PCIe

The AHA364-PCIe is a PCI Express plug-in card that adds GZIP acceleration to data networking streams and provides the user with 32 independent virtual compression channels to ease arbitration of CPU resources. Two compression ASICs and a Scatter/Gather Direct Memory Access (DMA) engine on-board provide a constant data throughput of 5 Gigabits/sec (625 MegaBytes/sec) while requiring minimal CPU interaction. The card is fully Deflate and GZIP compliant.

The AHA364-PCIe card allows many advantages over software based compression solutions. It is faster, offers shorter latencies, and requires less power to operate. Offloading compression to a hardware coprocessor thus freeing up CPU resources for other tasks is another major feature.
